HAROLD C. DAVIS FUNERAL HOME

For three generations, Harold C. Davis has served the families of High Point. Our professional staff members welcome you to a warm and friendly atmosphere. We’re here to listen and provide options to meet your needs. Whether you prefer cremation with a small family gathering or would like a large traditional funeral, you can trust us to assist you in planning and honoring your final wishes.

Harold C. Davis Funeral Home was founded in 1950, and was originally located on North Main Street. Since then, it has twice outgrown its building, and in 1996 a new, more spacious funeral home was opened and is now known as Davis Funerals and Cremations. The funeral home is housed in a beautiful 23,000-square-foot facility with several large visitation rooms, an inspirational chapel that comfortably seats over 200 guests, and a special study for ministers. Plenty of parking is available and all areas of the funeral home are wheelchair-accessible. The funeral home is conveniently located on Phillips Avenue, adjacent to Floral Garden Memorial Park. The entire building is constructed around a meditation garden with a peaceful two-tiered waterfall and tranquil lagoon with aquatic life. During chapel services, the garden is visible through a glass wall.

FLORAL GARDEN MEMORIAL PARK

The beautiful Floral Garden Memorial Park was founded in 1935 and encompasses 70 acres of land. A wide range of burial options is available from traditional ground burial to private family mausoleums. A variety of columbariums and several other options for those who choose cremation are offered as well.

Guests are comforted by Floral Garden’s serene atmosphere, with its naturally beautiful terrain and rolling hills. Oaks, hickories and dogwoods, some of which are over 100 years old, add to the beauty of the park. Floral Garden also offers a duck pond, where families often gather to reflect on the lives of their loved ones. Many find Floral Garden’s grounds to be inspirational, and come to the park to meditate because of its unique features including the Christus, a beautiful statue standing 7.6 feet above its pedestal. The Christus weighs almost two tons and is made of Carrara marble. It was unveiled at the park at the Easter Sunrise Service in 1950. Other attractions include the Bronze Bible; the Colonnade on which the Twenty-third Psalm is inscribed on white Carrara marble using gold-leaf letters; the Balustrade, a sculpture made from polished Travertine marble; and the Garden of Time sundial that stands approximately 15 feet high and is made of Carrara marble.

At the Veterans Field of Honor, the names of honored veterans are engraved at the base of a dedicated 50-foot flagpole commemorating patriots from World War I and II, as well as the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Each year, Memorial Day services are held in this area.

CHAPEL OF MEMORIES MAUSOLEUM

The Chapel of Memories Mausoleum is one of the most prestigious buildings on the grounds of Floral Garden Memorial Park. Several options, crypt styles and levels are available to fit your budget. The companion and side-by-side crypts offer partners in life the opportunity of enduring companionship. The mausoleum has a spacious chapel for family use at no additional cost.
