Reverend Melvin Anderson
Funeral Assistant

Mel is a native of Colorado and has been with Davis Funerals and Cremations since 2006 as a funeral assistant. He is a graduate of Colorado State and Southern Seminary, with a master’s degree in Religious Education. Mel has served on church staffs in Asheboro, Mr. Airy and High Point. He and his wife Barbara have three children and five grandchildren.

Jerry Cranford
Assistant Manager

Jerry is a native of Thomasville and has been with Davis Funerals and Cremations since 2009 as assistant manager. He graduated from East Davidson High School and obtained his associates degree in Mortuary Science from Fayetteville Technical Community College. He likes to spend time with his wife Tammy, their twin daughters, and caring for his wide range of animals.

H. Leigh Davis
Manager

Leigh is a native of High Point and has been a licensed funeral director for 36 years, currently serving as manager of Davis Funerals and Cremations. His father, Harold C. Davis, founded the firm. He is a graduate of High Point Central High School and Guilford College. Leigh and his wife Connie have two sons, and he enjoys golf and working around his home and yard.

Robert G. Hight, Jr.
Funeral Assistant

Bob is a native of Troy and has been with Davis Funerals and Cremations since 2003 as a funeral assistant. He has been in sales for forty years. Bob and his wife Bobbie have three children and five grandchildren. He is an accomplished musician and enjoys fishing.

William G. Shelton, Jr.
Funeral Assistant

Bill is a native of Salisbury and has been a funeral assistant at Davis Funerals and Cremations since 2001. He graduated from Catawba College and received his master’s degree from UNCG. He retired from the High Point- Guilford County School System, ending his career as a principal. Bill and his wife Linda have two children, three grandchildren and are active in Oakview Baptist Church.

Jerry Tucker
Funeral Assistant

Jerry is a native of Greensboro and has been with Davis Funerals and Cremations since 2006 as a funeral assistant. He graduated from Smith High School and has an associate’s degree from Guilford College. He retired from the High Point Police Department after thirty years service. Jerry and his wife Jane have three children and six grandchildren. He enjoys playing bass guitar at his church, Oak View Baptist.
